The Char Dham Yatra typically opens from late April or early May and continues until October or early November, depending on the weather.
The best time to undertake this pilgrimage is between May and June or September and October. During these windows, the weather is relatively stable, and the routes are more accessible. Avoid the monsoon season (July to August) due to landslides and heavy rainfall.
-
Connectivity is patchy, especially in Kedarnath and Yamunotri. BSNL and Jio provide relatively better coverage.
-
Yes, ATMs are available at major towns and stops along the Char Dham Yatra route, such as Rishikesh, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Joshimath. However, availability decreases as you approach remote areas like Kedarnath and Yamunotri. It’s advisable to carry sufficient cash, especially for small towns and dhabas where digital payments might not be accepted. Make sure to withdraw cash from reliable locations before heading towards higher altitudes.
